Just thought I'd give a sneak peek at my "Easter" dress. From THIS vogue pattern.
I've had this pattern for ages, and unfortunately, It was several sizes too small. So I've added quite a space in each piece, and it's coming together very well!
Found this material at JoAnn's on sale.

Oooooh yes, my friends.
But you see, I'm very excited about.
HRF Is hosting a giveaway for an ArtheliasAttic handmade Vintage Snood! (Found here)
I've wanted one of these for a long time, and if I don't win, I'd love to buy one in the near future.
So head on over and enter to win!
Well, I ended up making it 3 out of seven days in the corset challenge. It doesn't sound like much, but I think it was a start. It's most definitely something I'm going to try again. The main reasons for quitting were lack of outfits and Christmas rush.

Edwardian photoshoot
My friend Katie is taking a photography class in college and she called me last week to ask me if I would go with her to take some photos. Of course I said yes!
And then she made the mistake of saying "And you can dress up."
*evil grin*
I narrowed myself down to two costumes, but it was still a lug... all those petticoats and underthings... Shoes... ect.
I ended up only using this one due to lack of daylight. We headed up to Cades Cove after she got off work at 3:00 and by the time we got up there things were getting dark.
Now I can't remember if I ever blogged about this outfit before since it was made in my long internet-less days.
The blouse is from Folkwear's "Gibson Girl" shirtwaist and the skirt is from Butterick 3418 (Now OOP I think)
There are many more photos to come, but these were some that I begged her to take on my Iphone. What do you think?

Mini Miracle Workers
This weekend I finally got the chance to go Antiquing with my parents. I was so excited to be able to find some 50's- 60's dresses that fit tolerably well. (Which is why you won't be seeing them yet... they, or I need work before they look good) Not to mention the two new hats that I adore!
But the best thing in my opinion is these!
Mom found a grab bag full of these little gems!
Vintage wave clips!
I'm sorry for all the exclamation points, but I just couldn't, and can't, hold in my excitement. I couldn't wait to reset my hair and try these little babies out. My First attempt, pictured here, I simply sprayed it heavy, and they immediately fell back out... :/
So these are meant for wet sets only.
No giving up though! I tried again, with just one side, Dampening it first.
And guess what? Voila! Perfection!
They're rather severe for a marcel, any tips on taming them down?
Be that as it may, they'll be perfect for 20's- 30's finger waves!
Can't wait to give them a try!

Corset Challenge; The Rest of the Week.
Well, I ended up making it 3 out of seven days in the corset challenge. It doesn't sound like much, but I think it was a start. It's most definitely something I'm going to try again. The main reasons for quitting were lack of outfits and Christmas rush.
No one wants to be stuck in a un-used to corset while shopping and crawling around on the floor wrapping gifts.
But I do feel that those three days were a complete success! The day pictured here was a work day, cleaning the mill from top to bottom and helping dad all day. I felt completely comfortable all day, even while sweeping and lifting. (note: losing the modern undergarment fixed ALL the problems!)
I did wear my apron, but by the time I took these pictures it was absolutely filthy!
On day three, I wore pretty much the same outfit as in day one, but I switched to my pink shirtwaist.
I'll be trying this again some time in the next few months and we'll see how it goes.

- Make new slips. Mine is two sizes too small, and tattered...
- Add in a few new spring-time dresses
- perhaps make a supportive upper garment, such as these: Image 1, Image 2, Image 3
So do please stay tuned. And do comment! I love hearing from you, and it's so encouraging to me and makes me want to keep writing!
